Avis McConnel York (1909 - 2004)
Avis McConnel York 94 of Emmett, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at a Emmett care center. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2004 at the Sweet Cemetery in Sweet, Idaho.
Avis was born August 22, 1909 at Emmett, the eldest of eight children born to Frank and Lucille (Bennett) McConnel, who were pioneers to Idaho. She married Richard York in Montour on June 10, 1931 Avis and Richard had four boys, Andy, Frank Bill and Jim. They raised their family in the Montour Valley.
Avis is survived by her son, Frank of Boise; two sisters, Dorothy Pratt of Sweet and Mary Jane Walden of Seattle and numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, two brothers and three sisters.
We thank those who tended mom at the Emmett Rehabilitation and Health Care. She required full time care and they managed her needs in a highly respectable manner. The family request memorials be made in her name to Emmett Rehab. and Health Care, 714 N. Butte, Emmett, ID 83617.
