Dies Thursday After Long Illness

Donald Osman MacAskill, 66, a long-time Idaho resident, died at his home west of Emmett Thursday night following a long illness.
Mr. MacAskill was born March 20, 1891, in Eureka, Nev., and moved to the Pearl community near Emmett with his parents in 1901. He attended school at Pearl and later engaged in the mining business in Pearl, Warren, Idaho, the Boise basin and Butte, Mont.
He was married to Hester A. Gross, June 20, 1923, at Gross, Idaho, near Ola. He was a veteran of World War and was a member of Lawrence Dresser post, American Legion, in Emmett and the Methodist church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth A. MacAskill, Harlowton, Mont., and Wayne O. MacAskill, Portland: one daughter, Mrs. William C. McConnel, Emmett, and six grandchildren.
