Vernon Gross, Emmett Native, Dies Wednesday
1913 - 1979
Services for Vernon V. Gross, 65, Emmett, who died Saturday at a Boise hospital, were conducted Tuesday at Potter Funeral Chapel, Emmett, by the Rev. Harry L. Granger, First Baptist church. Interment was in the Ola cemetery, with Lodge Rites by Plymouth Lodge No. 83, IOOF.
He was born June 13, 1913, at Gross. He grew up and attended school at Gross and at Ola. He moved to New Plymouth in 1939, where he farmed and worked for the Idaho Highway Department. He moved to Emmett in 1957, where he 'worked for the Gem County Road Department. He married Susan Corrigan June 2, 1962, at Winneucca, Nev. He was a member and past Noble Grand of Plymouth Lodge No. 83, IOOF.
Surviving are his wife of Emmett. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Vernon was the son of Richard Gross and Ruth Cramer Gross, Upper Squaw Creek homesteaders.
