Jamie Chilcott (1912-2010)

Jamie Chilcott, 97, Sweet, Idaho, died peacefully at home on March 21, 2010, with her daughters by her side.
Jamie was the oldest of five children born to Jim and Jennie Fuller on Nov. 23, 1912, in Dry Buck, Idaho. She grew up in Sweet with the family spending summers at their Sulpher Creek ranch on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Feb. 14, 1930, Jamie married Cyril McDonough, later divorcing. She attended beauty school in Boise, Idaho, and then went on to become an instructor, eventually owning her own salon.
Jamie married Kenneth Chilcott March 6, 1948, in Boise where their two daughters were born. They moved to Sweet in 1953 where she became a vital part of the Methodist Church, schools and community. For 97 years Jamie lead a life to be admired for her vitality and compassion to her community, friends and most of all, her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary JoAnne McDonough; husband, Kenneth; and brother, Jim Fuller.
She is survived by daughters, Kennie Lyn (Roger) Klingback of Sweet and Marilyn (Ron) Johnson of Kuna, Idaho; sisters, Louona Elliott, Alice Penix and Atha Biggers; grandchildren, Jennifer Clites, Jed Johnson, Tami Klingback and Jessie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Cody Clites, Toby Keller, Chase Johnson and Hailey Lucero.A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho. Funeral services will be held March 25, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett with burial immediately following at the Sweet Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name, to the Sweet Methodist Church or Sweet Syringa Club.
