Fred W. Turner

(1898 - 1969)

STAR — Services for Fred W. Turner, 70, Star, who died Tuesday in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.Saturday in the Star Friends Church by the Rev. Dean Gregory. Interment will be at Star Cemetery under the direction of Robison Chapel of the Chimes.

Mr. Turner was born Oct. 25, 1898, in Eureka, Nev., and came to Pearl, Idaho, in 1901. He worked in mines in Montana and Nevada and was foreman at the Lincoln mine at Pearl beginning in 1933. He married Irene Osborne on Aug, 27, 1927, at Boise. He had lived in Star since 1944, raising Hereford cattle. He was a representative of Manufacturers Trust Co., of New York, and was a charter member of the Western Riding Clubs Association.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Stillwell, Eagle, and Mrs. Irene Wilson, Star; two sons, Merrill and Jack Turner, and a sister, Mrs. Maymie Young, all of Star; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Breshears, John McKenney, Gene Morcorm, Jack Turner, Billy Young and Irvin Pollard. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Shaw, Kenneth Jennings, Glen Sackett, Hugh McNichols, Herb Morcom, Cash Turner, Ralph Reedy and Walter Stillwell Sr.

Fred Wallace Turner was the son of Fred Bennett Turner and Mary MacAskill Turner.
