John William Cramer Jr. (1920 - 2008)

John William Cramer Jr. was born in Ola, Idaho, on February 4, 1920 to John William Sr. and Winifred Cramer.

John was preceded in death by his siblings, Arthur, Thomas, Viola and is survived by his sister, Violet from Boise, Idaho.

John served in the Army during WWII in the Pacific Campaign and was a prisoner of war for three and a half years.

John married Joyce E. Helton on July 15, 1951 in Juneau, Alaska, and they were blessed with eight children: Patrick, Michael, John, James, Mary, Rory, Richard and Rebecca. John and Joyce have 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five step grandchildren.

John passed away peacefully on January 9, 2008, surrounded by many of his family. The family requests that any donations be given to Veterans Administration Skilled Nursing Unit in Vancouver, Wash. The donations can be made to: VAMC-NCSU and mailed to: B Wing 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver, Wash. 98661.

John was buried at Willamette National Cemetery on January 14, 2008. There was a memorial service at Molalla Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 14, 2008, at 3:30 p.m.
